The Prohibition Do Not Swim Notice at Velvet Strand, Portmarnock has been lifted as the resample collected on July 24 met the result for “excellent” water quality.
Following consultation with the Health Service Executive, the Prohibition Notice has since been removed from the popular coastal spot.
The next scheduled sample for all identified beaches is July 31, 2023.

Members of the public can check for water quality at any of the monitored bathing waters in Ireland in advance by accessing the EPA website at www.beaches.ie or by checking the notice board at the entrance to each beach.
