Man dies following Tallaght stabbing

Gardaí are investigating an incident in Tallaght yesterday evening which resulted in the death of one man, with a second man being admitted to Tallaght University Hospital.

The incident occurred at Mac Uilliam Road, Tallaght circa 7.15pm on Tuesday, August 10 when a 25-year-old man is believed to have sustained a neck injury. He was also treated at Tallaght University Hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

A second man (40) was injured in the incident and is believed to have non-life-threatening injuries. 

The scene was preserved pending examination. An investigation is ongoing and a post- mortem will be carried out later today on the deceased. 

Gardaí appeal to any persons who may have witnessed the incident or were in the area between 6.30pm and 7.15pm or any passing taxis with dash cam footage to contact Tallaght Garda Station on 01 666 6000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.

Gardaí further appeal for any taxi operators in the area on Tuesday last, with dash cam footage to contact them.
