A huge thank you to Supervalu Rush who presented Rush Tidy Towns with a cheque for €1,000, recently, writes Rose Barrett.
This was the first two months of operation of the reverse recycling machine for drink bottles and cans which was based in the shop.
“Thank you to everybody who recycled their bottles and cans over that period. Eagle eyed customers will have noticed that the machine has disappeared but the good news is it will be replaced soon with a more reliable machine which will be based there permanently. Thank you!” said Philip Kirrane of Rush TTs.

The Student Council from Rush National School approached Rush Tidy Towns a few weeks back asking if they could do their bit to help keep the town clean for the rest of term.
“We loaned the school our equipment, and since then, the students took part in several litter picks right around the town keeping it looking fantastic,” said Philip.
“Photo shows Ms Walsh and Ms McCarthy’s third-class students out and about. Thank you to all and have a great summer holiday.”

The local tidy towns group were delighted to pick up our two National awards from the 2022 National Tidy Towns competition at a ceremony in Trim last month. Committee members Sarah, Annette and Paula did the honours on this occasion. The awards related to Climate Action and the Sustainable Development Goals. “Well done to everyone involved!” said Philip.
