Local Tidy Towns plan ahead for ’24

There was lots of litter picking carried out in Rush over the last few weeks to keep the town look clean and tidy, writes Rose Barrett.

Some of the areas cleaned included Rogerstown Estuary, the stretch of road from the Train Station to Old Road amongst others.

Phillip Kirrane noted: “Also, Mary from our committee was out pruning and tidying up some of the landscaped areas around the town. All this work was done by local volunteers which benefits the whole town.” But new volunteers and more hands on deck so to speak, are always welcome for the busy group which maintains litter control in local estates, maintains flower beds, heritage and scenic areas, along with beach litter collections.

“If you would like to get involved in any way, no matter how big or small, please get in touch via email at  [email protected]. It is also a great way to get out and about whilst getting some physical activity.” said Phillip. “If you would like to become a Committee member and contribute to the many local areas and estates we monitor, do get in touch!”
