New York Rose Roisin Wiley has emerged as the new frontrunner to win the Rose of Tralee, according to Ladbrokes but the Dublin Gazette is firmly behind our Dublin Rose, Bethany Cushing!
The 27 years old is originally from Cork but spent a few years in the Falkland Islands, London, and Cork before finally settling in Dublin.
Bethany moved to Dublin in 2013 and is thrilled to be representing her adopted home county.
Having studied at Trinity College Dublin., she has worked as a Radiation Therapist for St Luke’s Radiation Oncology Network and also in cancer research.
In 2020, she joined the Royal College of Surgeons where she soon commences her fourth year as a medical student. Obstetrics and Gynaecology is where she wants to work, having a keen interest in women’s health.

Bethany also loves swimming (notably at Bull Island,) and cooking, playing the violin, practising TaeKwonDo, and running.
She is currently training for the Dublin Marathon in October while fundraising for Beaumont Hospital Foundation.
Best wishe to you Bethany this week and to all the Rose entrants in this year’s Rose of Tralee.
Mayo Rose Kate Heneghan had been the firm favourite but following a recent surge in support, the New York Rose is now top of the pecking order at 7/4.
Mayo’s hopeful Kate Hengan has moved into second favourite at 3/1, while Kerry Rose Kelsey Lang McCarthy is now third favourite at 5/1 from 7/2.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: With the Rose of Tralee set to air tonight, betting has really started to heat up. Mayo Rose Kate Heneghan had been holding firm as the frontrunner, but following a huge surge in betting, New York’s hopeful Roisin Wiley has stormed into the favourite position for the coveted crown!
