Next Week is Annual Bike Week and Fingal County Council have an exciting programme of free events lined up for North Dublin residents. Bike Week will run from May 14 to 22 next, and the theme is ‘Click Into Gear’.
Events will be held across Fingal plus an eCargo bike event in Swords Castle from 2.30-4pm on Friday (May 20). Cyclists are invited to join in the Spin & Swim event at Velvet Strand Portmarnock by cycling to the beach for a refreshing dip from 8.30am.
FCC’s Active Travel team say they are delighted to offer Adult Cycle Training at Racecourse Park in Baldoyle on Saturday (May 21, 10am to 12 noon). For those who returning to cycling, why not join the community cycle from Baldoyle to Howth led by Councillor Joan Hopkins on Saturday, May 21 also.
Throughout the week, FCC will host a series of school events including an inclusive cycling workshop with Prosper Fingal, BMX workshops at St Catherine’s Park and Bling Your Bike and Superhero Cycle challenges.
Check out the ‘Cycle There’ competition and to complete the week, there will be a super Family Fun Day at Malahide Castle on Sunday, May 22 from 12-5pm. The day will feature cycle-in movies at 1 and 3pm (The Greatest Showman and Sing), outdoor games and fitness activities, bike servicing, freebies, trishaw spins, food stalls and much more!
