Man in his forties hospitalised after hit-and-run in Dublin City Centre

Gardai are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision and alleged assault of a man in his forties.

Witnesses allege that a number of men got out of the vehicle and assaulted the victim after knocking him down.

The incident occurred on Parnell Street at the junction of Hill Street in Dublin 1, which happened at about 12.20 am on Friday, July 14, 2017.

The man was brought to The Mater Hospital by an ambulance, following serious injuries.

Gardaí believe that the man was struck by a green or blue coloured Audi saloon car which left the scene in the direction of Summerhill.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant information about this incident to contact them at Mountjoy Garda Station on 01 666 8600.
