Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club is taking part in Run4Pieta 2021 from this Friday 18 June until Sunday 20 June.
Pieta first opened its doors in Lucan, County Dublin in 2006. Since then they have seen and helped over 65,000 people in suicidal distress or engaging in self-harm.
Pieta provide free counselling to those with suicidal ideation, those engaging in self-harm, and those bereaved by suicide. Staff are fully qualified and provide a professional one-to-one therapeutic service.
In 2020 Run 4 Pieta created a real sense of togetherness amongst the GAA community, whilst raising much needed funds for Pieta. The last 12 months have been very challenging for all of society including our sports clubs, which provide such an important outlet for everyone involved.
Starting at 6pm on Friday 18 June, Lucan Sarsfields GAA Club members, will walk, run or cycle for 48 hours consecutively, until 6pm on Sunday 20 June.
According to the organisers, 100% of funds raised will go directly to Pieta.
