Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, one of Ireland’s largest shopping and leisure destinations, is proud to celebrate its 25th anniversary this October.

1998 was the year Irish pop sensation Westlife was formed, TV cult classic Dawson’s Creek premiered, and the Google Search was first launched. It was also the year that Liffey Valley Shopping Centre first opened its doors, and since then, it has consistently been at the forefront of destination retail, providing shoppers with top-tier choices in contemporary fashion and homewares as well as entertainment and leisure.

To mark the milestone anniversary, Liffey Valley will celebrate with a special sales event this Thursday 12th October, rewarding loyal customers with unmissable discounts. The exclusive one-day event will see shoppers take advantage of great savings from their favorite Liffey Valley retailers, as well as live music and entertainment throughout the day.

Today, Liffey Valley is more than just a shopping destination, it’s a social hub in the heart of the Dublin West community while boasting an unparalleled selection of retail, dining, and entertainment amenities.

As well as being home to longstanding national retailers including Carraig Donn, Peter Marks, and Eason since 1998, the Centre has also housed international names such as Marks and Spencer’s and Boots who have their largest stores in Ireland at Liffey Valley. Today the Centre employes 2,400 people, many of whom are from the local community and is one of the largest contributors to the South Dublin local authority area economy. Over the years, the Centre has expanded from 376,000 sq ft to over 767,000sq ft welcoming an average of 10 million customers through its doors each year.

This year alone, Liffey Valley has welcomed market leading retailers including Calvin Klein, Levi’s, Hobbs and Salsa Jeans as well as Kilkenny Design who are our most recent addition to the lineup. We have also added brand-new dining experiences Hogs and Heifers and The Pantry this year with award-winning Mexican burrito bar, Boojum joining our extensive roster of restaurants offering dine-in and takeaway services this week.  H&M Home and Miele will further extend our offering to customers by the end of the year.

Commenting on the forthcoming anniversary, Liffey Valley Shopping Centre Director, Denis O’Connell, said “We are beyond excited to mark the anniversary of Liffey Valley Shopping Centre. Having opened our doors back in 1998, Liffey Valley has grown in size from 376,000 square feet to 767,000 square feet.

Now, 25 years on, Liffey Valley has grown to offer over 80 stores, 20 restaurants, and a state-of-the-art cinema. Our growth and development to become one of Ireland’s largest shopping destinations is all due to the support of the community, our loyal customers, and of course our dedicated colleagues.

Having worked with Liffey Valley since its opening, I have witnessed a generation of customers walk through the Centre and we are thrilled to host this exclusive sale event to give back to our patrons, offering free entertainment for everyone in the community to enjoy.”
