A New LEGO store opens in August featuring the poolbeg towers made out of LEGO.
Ahead of the store opening, the LEGO Group brought a LEGO brick twist to the beautiful Sandymount Strand in the early hours of the morning. A team of expert LEGO builders gathered at the Strand before dawn to build the iconic Poolbeg Towers crafted entirely from LEGO Bricks. The Poolbeg Towers replica will be on permanent display at the LEGO store from the 18th August, bringing a much-loved Dublin landmark to LEGO’s latest store.
Dublin’s Poolbeg Towers are a much-loved feature of Dublin’s skyline and are synonymous with Dublin life. When looking for an Irish landmark to celebrate the arrival of LEGO, it made sense to recreate the iconic red and white towers with LEGO bricks. LEGO endeavours to encourage citizens to visit the LEGO replica of the iconic Poolbeg Towers and share an image on social media for a chance to win a limited edition LEGO tile, while celebrating a much-loved landmark.
Visitors to the new store will be treated to the new, ‘Retailtainment’ concept which blends physical and digital experiences allowing shoppers to immerse themselves in the famous LEGO brick, as well as create personalised products. Full details of what visitors will be able to experience in the store will be revealed soon.
Alison Wood, District manager of UK/Ireland said of the new store: “We know there are many loyal LEGO fans in Dublin, so we are thrilled to be able to bring the LEGO Store experience to this amazing city. We’re excited to welcome the local community through our doors on 18th August to enjoy exclusive experiences, brand new products and endless activities! We are also delighted to showcase our Poolbeg Towers LEGO replica to officially launch the countdown to our store opening, and we encourage everyone to come check it out!”
The brand-new LEGO store will be opening its doors on Thursday, August 18 with an opening ceremony, street entertainment and more.
