This weekend saw the new Donnybrook Fair Store & Restaurant open its doors at Dundrum Town Centre’s Pembroke Square, bringing the total number of Donnybrook Fair stores in Ireland to six, writes Rachel Cunningham.

Late Late Toy Show star Úna Walsh was a huge hit with shoppers, as she performed A Million Dreams on the harp, among other Christmas songs, outside the store. Popular singing trio The Bugle Babes joined the 14-year-old from Wexford to get shoppers in the festive mood, while Santa treated the first 100 customers to freshly baked Donnybrook Fair cookies and hot chocolate.

The food market is located on the ground floor and features butcher, cheese, juice and pizza counters, as well as wine and coffee areas. The LOFT restaurant on the top floor serves fresh, locally-sourced food and an extensive drinks menu for brunch, lunch and dinner. In the new year, Donnybrook Fair fans can sign-up to experience a range of pop-up culinary experiences, such as cookery classes, wine tastings.

Speaking from the new store, Des O’Mahony said: “We are thrilled to be able to open the store just in time for Christmas. This year Donnybrook Fair celebrates its 20th anniversary, so it’s been extra special with this spectacular new store. It is very different to our existing stores and offers a real food adventure for people with our various culinary counters. I would like to thank all the staff and the shoppers who have been so gracious with their well wishes over the weekend.”
