John Flynn from Raheny is a successful architect and has thus far published three poetry books. Married to Bernie with two grown up children, Megan and Jonathon, John’s life was happy with only blue skies on the horizon.

Until his beloved brother Chris died tragically in July 2022. Aged only 59, the late Chris lived as a single man in the family home in the picturesque village of Enniscrone in Co Sligo.

“Chris seemed happy out, we never ever detected any mental health issues. He had lots of friends and loved his job, the extended family adored him, he was always the life and soul of family get-togethers. His nephews and nieces adored him.

“After his sad passing, I found myself just trying to make sense of it all, just trying to come to terms with it, to mourn him and to celebrate his life.  I miss him, it was a dreadful shock.”

John’s previous works were entitled ‘How’re ya Ray’,  ‘Simple songs and nursery rhymes’ and ‘ Leave the pen in the car.’
