Leading Irish building contractor JJ Rhatigan & Company and Enbarr Education Ltd, in partnership with the National Development Finance Agency (NDFA), the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science (DFHERIS), the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Institute of Art, Design, and Technology, Dún Laoghaire (IADT), is proud to announce the successful topping out of the Digital Media Building at IADT Dun Laoghaire, writes Alex Greaney.
The celebration took place on August 30, and marks a significant milestone in the construction of the Higher Education PPP Bundle 1 (HEB1) project, delivering six new buildings focusing on STEM, ICT, Engineering, and Life Sciences facilities, at IADT and Technological University campuses in Tallaght, Blanchardstown, Tralee, Athlone, and Cork.
The topping out ceremony at IADT signifies the completion of the main structural elements of the building and is an important landmark for a construction project of this scale and national importance.
Built to a high-quality standard the new Digital Media Building at IADT will house the animation and visual design communications labs, further strengthening IADT’s offering in the fields of Art, Design, and Technology. The building is part of a broader PPP programme to develop circa 38,060 m2 of additional building space at the six campuses that will cater for circa 5,147 additional student places.
