HATS off to Gazette reader and good samaritan Michael O’Hanlon, who woke up at the weekend to discover a confused mother duck and her eight babies waddling around his back garden.
With help from his daughter Cliodna, all eight ducklings were transported via a kitchen bin to nearby Portmarnock estuary as their anxious mother followed Michael on the 300m trip from his home. Well done Michael – you played a beaky blinder!
