Gardai seized heroin and cash during a search of a city centre flat this afternoon.
In a search of a residence at the Oliver Bond House flat complex today, the Street Crime Unit attached to Kevin Street Garda station discovered heroin (subject to analysis), weighing scales and other drug paraphernalia.
In addition to the drugs, which the Garda Press Office reports have a street value of €75,000, Gardai also found €8,000 in cash and a cash counting machine.
An 18-year-old man was arrested in connection with the investigation and is being detained under the provisions of Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996.
The investigation is ongoing.
