Gardai investigating the murder of a man in Swords renew their appeal for information

Gardai at Swords have appealed for two taxi drivers, who were working on the morning of the man’s death, to come forward.

The father of three, Dermot Byrne (56) died from fatal injuries inflicted in the early hours of Sunday, July 16, 2017.

He was found on North Street in Swords.

Gardai are anxious to speak with two separate taxi drivers. One driver picked up two men and two women at approximately 00:50am from Swords Manor on July 16. They were dropped to North Street shortly after.

One of the male passengers carried a large dark coloured sports bag.

A second driver picked up a single male passenger in possession of a large coloured sports bag on Main Street, Swords just before 3am on July 16.

Gardaí would also like to speak to three men who were walking from North Street towards Main Street at 2.50am.
