Dublin Fingal TD, Alan Farrell, has said that two Fingal sports clubs have been successful in their appeals to the Sports Capital and Equipment Programme.
Deputy Farrell said, “I am pleased to confirm that both Portmarnock AFC and Swords Celtic FC, have been successful in their appeals. The clubs will benefit from a combined total of just under €100,000.”
“This bring the total number of successful clubs to 60 and totals a funding investment of over €4.1 million, which will benefit towns and communities right across Dublin Fingal.”
Deputy Farrell continued, “Sport is a cornerstone to communities and plays a very present role in youth populations in Ireland. By investing in these clubs, we enhance the experience of all the young people and volunteers that participate in them.”
“The grants received today and in recent months will improve the clubhouses, develop playing fields, enhance equipment, increase disability access and so much more.”
Deputy Farrell added, “I look forward to continuing my work with sports clubs across Fingal and to see investment in our sports teams and clubs continued into the future, building on the hard work of communities and young people.”
