Gardai in West Dublin arrested two men after finding a firearm and ammunition as part of an operation targeting organised crime.
The men aged 47 and 25 were arrested on Saturday last when personnel attached to the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau (GNDOCB) supported by the Emergency Response Unit intercepted a vehicle in the Baldonnel area of West Dublin.
In the course of a search of the vehicle, one firearm, and ammunition was located and seized. In the course of a follow up search of a premises, cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €40,000 was located and seized.
