Dublin Fire Brigade has begun new partnership with a childhood cancer charity, writes Rachel Cunningham.
To coincide with Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, the fire brigade has set up the Dublin Fire Brigade Oscar District, where children can be nominated to become an honorary firefighter and member of the district.
Each child will receive a special certificate, some goodies and also a specially commissioned medal.
To officially launch the partnership, four children of various ages and their families who are part of Oscar’s Kids Club joined the fire brigade at the Training Centre in Marino, where they explored the fire engine and attended an awards ceremony.
