Gardai seize over €64,000 of suspected drugs in Coolock

Gardaí have seized over €64,000 of suspected cocaine and arrested one man as part of an intelligence led operation targeting the sale and supply of drugs in Coolock.

The operation took place yesterday evening, Monday 14 December, at approximately 9pm.

Gardaí attached to the Divisional Drug Unit conducted a surveillance operation on the Greencastle Road, and during the course of the operation, one male was stopped and searched.

In a statement, Gardai said that eight large bags of suspected cocaine (pending analysis) were found concealed in his possession. The suspected cocaine weighs approximately 1kg and is estimated to be valued at €64,960.

The man, aged in his 30s, was arrested by Gardaí and taken to Coolock Garda Station where he is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.

Investigations are ongoing.
