The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SVP) has launched a Christmas Jumper Day opportunity to celebrate the wonder of Christmas and to raise funds for the charity, especially with Christmas looming when families are under financial pressure.
Celebrity Doireann Garrihy is lending her support to this year’s campaign, and encouraging Dublin Gazette readers to do the same.
SVP is encouraging schools, clubs, workplaces, families and friends to host their own Christmas Jumper Day on a day that suits them in the run-up to the festive season, in order to help raise funds for Dublin families in need.
All you have to do is pick a date on which to hold your Christmas Jumper Day and register with SVP at [email protected] to receive your fundraising pack.
SVP urges those who organise a Christmas Jumper Day, to pick a date, a time and then advertise the event to their family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues.
Rose McGowan SVP National President says that if you don’t have a Christmas Jumper yet why not, jazz up a plain jumper with some tinsel and lights!
Most of all she says: “Don’t forget to have fun while raising much needed funds which allows SVP to help those in need in our communities.”
The SVP network of 230 Vincent’s shops throughout the country will be promoting the SVP Christmas Jumper Day theme and will be holding raffles in store for your chance to win a SVP very own designed Christmas Jumper.
Tickets can be bought in Vincent’s shops nationwide.
