Castleknock Laurel Lodge are hosting a fundraiser in aid of their neighbours and friends from the SBHI community, writes Rose Barrett.

“Based in the Castleknock Community Centre, the Award Winning SBHI Open Opportunity Programme provides a vital daily Day Service to those living with Spina Bifida and/or Hydrocephalus (SBHI),” wrote a spokesperson for the service.

“Our unique person-centred service combats isolation, loneliness and assists members to live fulfilled lives in their communities. It is a lifeline for our members and profoundly impacts their health and wellbeing.

“But transport costs for our group here in Castleknock exceed €30,000 per annum.  We receive NO FUNDS towards this service. Please help us to raise €10,000 and ensure we keep this vital service on the road.”
