Walkinstown care manager, Christina Mooney, from InisCare, has been named Care Manager of the Year at the inaugural Home and Community Care Ireland (HCCI) Home Care awards

A panel of independent judges, from television, health service and medical backgrounds, selected Christina as their winner, stating that Christina, “characterises equal amounts of care and sound management acumen, both essential to her role.”

“Christina fosters a culture of team-work, increasingly essential in a pandemic when it became so clear that no-one can be successful on their own. She’s an innovator and a problem solver always looking for a better way that adds value to her work and that of her team. She brings energy and a positive attitude. It is clear that those who work with Christina are fortunate and those served by her are truly blessed”, they continued.

Commenting on the acknowledgement, Christina said: “This award is for us as a team not for me as an individual. I would like to especially thank all the care assistants who work us, they have been absolutely amazing throughout the pandemic, it’s thrown everything at us and we’ve got through it as a team.”
