Coffee shops expands into all-day dining

Café Diem will be expanding its offer into an all-day dining destination, after teaming up with Global payments company, Elavon, and payment solutions provider, Poynt, writes Rachel Cunningham.

In Donnybrook, Mohammed (Mo) Mrabat quickly established his café as a favourite with locals for its excellent coffee, cakes, panini and pizzas, which are available throughout the day. To build on this success, Mo sought to launch an evening dining offer under the moniker Mo’s Pizza, using an all-in-one payments system to support the café’s operations from dusk until dawn.

Poynt’s smart, wireless terminal allows for payments to be taken wherever the customer is, while ElavonConnect, a cloud-based reporting tool, alleviates a lot of admin-related stress as it allows owners to track their sales and other metrics from anywhere in real-time.

Mo commented: “I’m not an accountant. I’m a chef.

“I love food and that’s what I want to focus on. I needed a payments solution that could help me run all aspects of my businesses in one system, especially as Café Diem and Mo’s Pizza are quite different.”
