For many years the 85-metre-long concrete culvert wall at Booterstown Nature Reserve has been used as a graffiti canvas.

Now the wall has a mural created by artist Shane Ha that shows the diversity of this wetland landscape.

The An Taisce Dun Laoghaire Association has managed and cared for the Reserve for over 50 years taking it from an oil-polluted wetland to a European Nature Site of International importance as a Special Protection Area under the Birds Directive.

The work is done by volunteers and new members are welcome. The Reserve is also a National Heritage Area, and included in the UNESCO Dublin Bay Biosphere Reserve.

The mural project is supported by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council, the UNESCO Dublin Bay Biosphere Reserve (DCC), Clean Coasts and An Taisce, The National Trust for Ireland.
