Funeral planned for the late Bernadette Connolly, Swords

The daughter and family of missing Swords’ woman, Bernadette Connolly, were devastated to learn last week that her body was found recovered from a beach in Blackpool.

The 45-year-old was last seen on Donabate strand on January 7. An extensive missing person’s appeal was carried out by Gardaí with several impassioned pleas made by the late Ms Connolly’s daughter Jade.

Her death notice on read: “Taken too soon and deeply missed by her loving daughter Jade, Jade’s partner Dillin, her heartbroken parents Patrick and Nuala, brothers Des and Anthony, sister Madeline, brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.”

Her removal will take place on Wednesday (March 9) to St Cronan’s Church, Brackenstown arriving for  mass at 12 noon, followed by funeral to Dardistown Crematorium. Donations if desired to the Kevin Bell Trust, family flowers only.

Ms Connolly’s daughter Jade wrote on social media on Thursday last: “We will always remember her smile, strong character and love. Mam and I have had 30 years together, and for that I am grateful; our memories will live forever.”

Swords Neighbourhood Group and Friends on FB posted: “Rest in Peace Bernadette. Sending our love and sincerest condolences to Bernadette’s daughter Jade and all of her family at this heart-breaking time.”
