Ballyfermot Gardaí arrest four men in clampdown on scrambler bikes

Four men were arrested recently following a garda operation targeting the use of high powered scrambler motorbikes.

On 16th March 2021 Gardaí from Ballyfermot carried out an operation targeting the use of high powered scrambler motorbikes in the Ballyfermot area.

“Four planned searches were carried under warrant out on suspect’s homes. Two high power scrambler motorbikes were located and seized during the course of these searches,” said a garda spokesperson.

“One of these motorbikes has since been identified as having been stolen from the Blanchardstown area in November 2020.

“Four males, all of who have been identified as driving scrambler motorbikes in public parks and public roads in the Cherry Orchard area, were arrested and brought to Clondalkin and Ballyfermot Garda Stations,” said gardai.

All four men have since been charged and have appeared before the Courts.

Chief Superintendent Finbarr Murphy said that “this is great work by the Gardaí in Ballyfermot and is a major contribution to the safety of the people of Ballyfermot who use the local parks and roads and this detection will also make a significant contribution to the quality of life in the Ballyfermot area”.
