South Dublin County Council is teaming up once again with Dublin Canvas, an inclusive public art project that is open to anyone over the age of 18. Artists are invited to submit an idea and, if selected, be willing to give up the amount of time it will take them to paint a traffic light control box, writes Rachel Cunningham.

Dublin Canvas is now seeking submissions of artwork for a further 15 boxes located throughout the South Dublin County Council area.

Dublin Canvas runs throughout the summer months, with the deadline for submissions on May 13. The selection process will be completed by June 3 and the artwork is expected to be completed between early June and late August.

Participants should draw upon their own creativity and also pay attention to the different characteristics of each area for inspiration, especially the surroundings of each box when designing their artwork.

Interested artists and community groups should read the guidelines and criteria and submit their artwork to [email protected]
