[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]Two Knocklyon women are delighted to have been given the opportunity for a Pop-Up Shop in Arnotts this Christmas.
Glitz n’ Pieces is an online boutique for women’s fashion accessories and many celebrities have been spotted wearing their unique pieces.
Grace O’Sullivan and Ellen Weber were friends growing up and they both went to school in St Colmcilles Community School in Knocklyon.
They ended up in the same college course in IADT in Dun Laoghaire studying Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
They told Dublin Gazette about their humble beginnings.
“At the age of 19 and four weeks into our course, we had a project to set up a stall and sell in Marley Park.
“We both love fashion, so we decided on fashion accessories! We really prepared for this and with the success of Marley Market we invested in an online store which we work extremely hard on.”
Both entrepreneurs worked hard fulltime in college and on their online business and came away with a Level 8 honours Bachelor of Business degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Management.
The ambitious women told us they both bring different strengths to the business.
“We do have different traits as Ellen is extremely creative and creates a lot of our designs whilst [I] look after the financial part of the business,” said Grace.
Grace and Ellen are thrilled to have grown their business from a small idea to a successful business are being featured in Arnotts for Christmas.
They said: “We had a vision from day one of where we wanted Glitz n’ Pieces to be and we have worked towards it ever since.
“If you want something to work you need to put your full energy and time into it and that’s what we did. We believe the harder you work the luckier you get!
“The opportunity came about for a Pop-Up Shop for Christmas at Arnotts.
“From the moment we stepped foot into Arnotts all the staff have been extremely helpful and friendly. It’s like working as one big family in there. The brand works really well with the Arnotts customer.
“We have been working 10-12 hour shifts each day and have learned so much from being out on the floor and being in contact with the customers. It’s a completely different scene to our online store which we find so interesting.”
Winning the inaugural award for outstanding achievement named the Olivia Burke Award is one of their career highlights. Sharing other highlights, they added: “Last January we also moved into our first premises where we have our offices, stock room, packaging room and show room.
“This was a big step in our business and of course stepping into Arnotts this October has been an incredible experience!
“Most of all we always say that it’s an absolute bonus to work with your best friend every day!”
Glitz N’Pieces will be in Arnotts in the run up to Christmas located on the ground level.
