The Ski Club of Ireland, Kilternan, are hosting an Alpine Fest on September 25th and 26th, writes Amy Rohu.

The event, which aims to get people back on the slopes after a long time of being off them, will feature guest instructors from some of the main Austrian ski resorts and will also celebrate the groups 90 volunteer ski instructors.

The Ski Club has now fully re-opened after a difficult 18 months. Over the summer months the club hosted camps for kids and young adults as well as offering Special Olympics training.

The Alpine Fest will offer customers the chance to get their ski legs back or to have a go for the first time, depending on their experience. Taster ski lessons will take place over four different times each day and are priced at €30 per lesson, with a special price of €25 for under 18s.

Those who wish to take part are advised to wear warm leggings and gloves, while skis, boots, sticks and the ski lift will be provided as part of the lesson.
