ALONE, an Irish charity supporting older people to age at home, is seeking more volunteers for its programmes.

The visitation support and befriending service matches older people who would like additional social contact with a volunteer who would provide companionship through a weekly visit.

ALONE is currently seeking volunteers who are prepared to give some time every week to an older person in need of companionship. The charity is in particularly in need of people to come forward in the following counties: Carlow, Clare, Cork, Donegal, Kerry, Kildare, Mayo, Offaly, Limerick, Louth, Roscommon, Sligo, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford.

If you would like to become a volunteer you can apply online: www.alone.ie/get-involved/volunteer/
