The National Transport Authority has announced that a new bus route will be made permanent this August.
The service between Parkgate Street and the Phoenix Park Visitor Centre, which had been running on a trial basis, is due to be made official this month.
Originally intended to begin at Heuston Station and to travel through Phoenix Park’s Cabra Gate on to Broombridge Station, the gate was discovered to be too narrow for buses to safely travel through.
Fine Gael Senator Emer Currie described the new route as a “start”, adding that residents of Dublin 15 would be glad to see it extended.
