Denim never goes out of Fashion

Denim, I love it. The short denim jacket never goes out of fashion. Every year, new versions of the same come into vogue, with silver or brass buttons, additional pockets, zips and lapels but if you’ve a twenty-year-old faded jacket in your wardrobe, you’re still on trend!

I’ve lived through skinny jeans, wide flares and bell bottoms that flapped in the wind over platform clogs, and soaked up the rain and now back to stretch jeans and jeggings again. I have a Penneys and a Vera Moda denim jacket that must be at least a decade old or two old, plus a gorgeous new (more expensive) longer tailored denim jacket from Guess.

Any one of them can be worn now with a light jumper or hoodie and jeans. Better still, I will soon be getting into my long floaty dresses, and donning my denim jacket with pumps or even boots till the Irish temperatures gradually lift.

From Spring into Summer, just don a pashmina or throw around your neck and shoulders, and you have an extra layer against the elements. Come May/June the scarves or pashminas will be cast aside unless you’re at an outdoor event.

But home or abroad, my denim jacket, denim shirts, jeans and jeggings and even an ancient denim pinafore will still get an outing.
