Lidl Ireland Launch New COVID-19 What’s App Chatbot

LIDL Ireland has launched a Covid-19 WhatsApp chatbot so customers can check the quietest times to shop at their local store in a matter of seconds.

This innovative approach uses real time data and customer transaction numbers to determine which hours of the day are quietest to visit and which are busiest, allowing for customers to plan their shopping trips accordingly.

This functionality is the first of its kind of any Lidl store in the world, using customised software created by Lidl.

It follows the retailer’s Lidl Community Gift Card launch, a remote payment system which caters to isolating or cocooning shoppers. Customers can now purchase a gift card, up to the value of €200, by calling Lidl’s hotline on 1800-111-124.

To access the chatbot customers should visit on a mobile device.
