Dublin’s cheesiest cafe has opened a second city centre location on Montague Street.

Meltdown has opened a second cafe at 15 Montague Street, with a popular existing location already up and running at 5 Leeson Street Lower.

The cheese lover’s paradise was set up by Maeve O’Malley in 2018, originally starting as a pop up. Despite the inevitable difficulties the past six months has brought to all businesses, O’Malley has managed to not only maintain but grow her business.

The Montague Street café is open Monday to Friday from 8am until 3.30pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3.30pm.

When restrictions lift, Meltdown Montague Street will also become a day-to-night dining experience with the addition of the evening ‘Winedown’ menu, billed as a wine bar ‘but so much more’.

Winedown will offer food and wine with relaxed service in a space filled with contemporary Irish art. Winedown has been transformed into a reality thanks to the work of several leading female creatives.

Nadine Savage carried out the interior design, DJ Tara Stewart creating the playlist and Meltdown stalwart Sarah Maloney designed the branding. Nichola Hughes created the wine list, Fattiburke painted an original mural that greets you as you enter the space, and Kate Dillon is keeping loyal fans up to date sharing sneak peeks on social media.

Chef Maeve Walsh curated the Winedown menu after joining the team during lockdown.

Meltdown is available for collection or delivery. For more information visit www.meltdown.ie.
