On Thursday December 15th, 2022 at 8pm, the choirs of Dublin Choral Foundation, The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso will present The Great Christmas Concert at the National Concert Hall.
On this special occasion – their 25th Christmas Concert at the National Concert Hall – The Lassus Scholars and Piccolo Lasso, with conductor Dr. Ite O’Donovan, will be joined by the Orlando Chamber Orchestra, under leader Gillian Williams.
In celebration of the event, The Lassus Scholars & Piccolo Lasso will sing Mozart’s Te Deum andDurante’s Magnificat.
The choirs will also commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of César Franck in his rousing setting of Psalm 150 and the much-loved Panis Angelicus.
Special Guests include Aebh Kelly, mezzo- soprano and three young Ukrainian musicians now studying at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Aebh Kelly, who comes from Skerries, is currently based in Florence, Italy as a Mascarade Emerging Artist. She is the recent recipient of the coveted second prize at the Veronica Dunne International Singing Competition 2022 where she was also awarded the Dermot Troy Prize for the highest placed Irish singer in the competition.
Aebh will perform arias including Voi che sapete (Mozart), Gounod’s Faites-lui mes aveux and Rossini’s exciting Una voce poco fa from the Barber of Seville. She will be joined by the choirs and orchestra in singing everyone’s Christmas favourite, O Holy Night.

Appearing on the stage of the National Concert Hall for the first time are special guests from Ukraine, Olesya Borsuk who will be organist with the orchestra for the evening, Yana Schpak violin, who will play Sarasate’s Romanza Andaluza and Sulamita Pyvovar piano, who will play Liszt’s Etude de Concert.
There will be lots of opportunities for audience participation in carols and Chrismas songs and a chance to sing-a-long in the “Hallelujah Chorus”.
