At a recent public meeting, Donabate Portrane Community Council (DPCC) received a unanimous endorsement from the community to undertake a Judicial Review against the granting of permission by An Bord Pleanála for a SHD submission by Aledo Developments Ltd.
“The legal opinion DPCC obtained here is favourable, particularly as similar have been very successfully challenged elsewhere,” wrote Karel Lootens on behalf of DPCC.
“The Community Council needs your help again to undertake the necessary challenges to have this monstrous application struck down. This is no easy task, but is one that we as a community can and must win.”
The DPCC noting it was a difficult time of year, stated however, this planning decision must be challenged” on the grounds that it counters the Local Area Development Plan and will double the population of the area.
Already, almost €6, 500 has been reached but more financial support will definitely be needed.
An Bord Pleanála granted planning permission to Aledo Developments Ltd for almost 1400 units on Corballis lands. Aledo has since offered to reduce the development by 300 units but the DPCC has refused to engage or meet with the construction company.
