Donal & Eileen Kelly along with son Fionn & Uncle Conor paid a special visit to Children’ Health Foundation after raising €32,985 from their ‘Cycle for Miyah’ fundraiser.
The Kelly family, from Co Mayo paid a special visit to Children’s Health Foundation this month, to present the team with an incredible €32,985 raised from their Cycle for Miyah’s event.
Miyah’s godfather Conor undertook a 1300 km cycle all along and around the West Coast of Ireland in memory of his gorgeous niece Miyah. 7year old Miyah Kelly passed away from Leukaemia in November 2021. Miyah’s legacy will be true goodness, colour, fun, determination and energy.
All the funds raised from their fundraising efforts will support the work of both Children’s Health Foundation and Aoife’s Clown Doctors, both charities that are close to the hearts of Miyah’s family members.

Commenting on Donal & Eileen’s incredible fundraising, Rachel Daly, Community Engagement Manager said “From all of us in Children’s Health Foundation and on behalf of the staff and families in CHI at Crumlin, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Donal & Eileen for raising the vital funds to help give every sick child every possible chance to survive, thrive and live to their potential through paediatric research. When you have a sick child in hospital, it is so important to know that they are getting the world-class treatment they deserve. Here in Children’s Health Foundation we are committed to supporting the expert care that the frontline teams in CHI give to sick children and their families every single moment of every single day. We would also like to thank each and every person who supported Donal & Eileen’s fundraiser – your generosity will make a real difference for sick children.”
Aine Hendrick, CEO of Aoife’s Clown Doctors hails from the same area as the Kelly Family in Co Mayo, said “It was bittersweet meeting the Kelly family and accepting the amazing proceeds raised in memory of their beautiful 7 year old daughter Miyah, who passed away from Leukaemia this time last year. The funds raised will spread relief and joy to families on the wards and corridors of the children’s hospitals in Ireland. We are so honoured to be in a position to spread joy in Miyahs memory.”
