Dublin’s first board game café is launching a Kickstarter campaign on September 8 in an effort to raise €5,000.
The campaign, backed by local digital marketer Dave O’Keeffe, aims to expand Board & Brewed, a collection of over 200 board games to over 500, making it the largest library of its kind in Ireland.
Located in Dún Laoghaire, Board & Brewed is a unique hub where people can disconnect from the digital world, savour artisanal coffee, enjoy locally-sourced food and explore an extensive range of board games.
Sharing space with Volume Records & Books, the café is slated to open on September 30, offering an analogue sanctuary in our fast-paced digital world.
“Board & Brewed, we’re rekindling that genuine face-to-face connection we all yearn for. It’s about more than just board games and coffee, it’s about laughter, conversation, and creating those lasting memories that a screen can never replicate,” said Dave O’Keeffe.
“We believe in the magic of a shared experience, the thrill of competition, and the bonds forged over a tabletop. Here’s to rolling the dice, taking chances, and finding the real connections that make life truly memorable.”
Supporters of the Kickstarter campaign will not only contribute to the creation of this unrivalled hub of board game culture in Dublin but also stand to receive exclusive rewards, including early access to discounted memberships and an invite to the grand launch party on September 30.
