Q: I’m interested in registering for Capital Credit Union’s online banking services, but I’m new to online banking and unsure of the setup process. What do I need to do to get started?

Registering for our online banking services couldn’t be easier.

You will need to have your account number – which can be found in your passbook – to hand. If you’re unsure of your account number, don’t hesitate to contact us on (01) 299 0400.

You will also need to create a new username and password and provide your date of birth, mobile number, and email address. Access our website from your mobile, laptop, or tablet and click on the ‘register’ button in the top right-hand corner.

This will take you to a short form to be completed using the information you have gathered. It’s important to note that the username and password are both case-sensitive, so be sure to choose something that you are likely to remember.

Once you have filled in the required details, hit ‘register’. You’ll receive two emails from [email protected], one containing a summary of the registration details you have just entered and another to notify you that your online account has been activated.

Additionally, you’ll also receive a text message from Capital Credit Union with an 8-digit PIN Number that you will need later.

You’re then ready to go. Simply log in to your new account using the PIN received by text and enjoy the convenience of managing your finances online. If you encounter any difficulties, don’t hesitate to reach out to us by phone or email.

Q: I need to set up a SEPA direct debit payment with my landlord so I can pay my rent each month. What is a SEPA payment and what do I need to set one up on my Capital Credit Union online account?

SEPA stands for Single Euro Payments Area. A SEPA payment is sent through the SEPA Scheme consisting of 27 EU member states.

SEPA payments streamline transactions, ensuring timely rent payments to your landlord. It’s important to note that all SEPA payments made must be in euro only.

To set up a SEPA Direct Debit payment method for your rent on your online Capital Credit Union account, ensure you have the IBAN (International Bank Account Number) of your landlord’s bank account, confirming their bank’s membership in the SEPA scheme.

Additionally, our online banking platform offers convenient 24/7 access so you can make online transactions, download statements, and upload documents for further ease.

Simply provide your landlord’s IBAN and confirm SEPA membership to initiate the process for hassle-free rent payments. It’s important to note that Capital Credit Union only accepts SEPA payments, so money sent via SWIFT may result in rejection and charges.

Q: I’ve recently activated my online banking account with Capital Credit Union. What kinds of things can I use it for?

Congratulations on setting up your online banking account with Capital Credit Union.

With 24/7 access, you now have a world of financial convenience at your fingertips. You can view all your accounts around the clock, transfer funds in and out seamlessly, and even apply for loans from the comfort of your own home.

You can make lodgements to your account using your Debit Card as well as upload and download important documents to support a loan application. Whether you are managing your finances, paying a bill, or planning for the future, our user-friendly platform empowers you with control and accessibility of your finances anytime, anywhere, and without the constraints of traditional banking hours.
