Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium is set to host a number of markets and fairs next month with a huge range of items to be available to purchase.

The markets will take place for four consecutive Sundays, with items such as vintage comics and organic foods to be available during the month of May.

The project is the brainchild of Christopher Longman, doing fairs for 50 years in several different countries.

Members of the public can enter the market free of charge.

Christopher said: “The stadium has everything one can want for an event like this and is only being used four nights a week, so it’s very ideal for me. I’ve got a nice mix of stands so far and we’re looking forward to it.

“I’ve got room for about 45 stalls. The tradition of the market is still alive and well in Ireland and I’m excited about the opportunity in Shelbourne Park. I’d like to thank all the staff there for their tremendous support.”

Sales and Operations Manager at Shelbourne Park Greyhound Stadium, Patrick Flynn, commented: “The markets and fairs here at Shelbourne Park will be something a little bit different for ourselves and our visitors to enjoy.

“It is an ideal opportunity for members of the community to experience the facilities we have on offer in a very different setting to what they might be used to. We look forward to welcoming Christopher and all stall operators throughout the month of May.”
