Handmade by Betzy Nina, the brand launched in 2017 and has gone from strength to strength since, winning the Irish Made Award in 2018.

What started out as a hobby is now a successful business for the jewellery designer, who moved to Dublin in 2010 for one year and never left after falling in love with the city.

Speaking about Sandia, Betzy told The Dublin Gazette how the pandemic has effected her business: “The pandemic has been a love hate relationship for me. It took away design markets, wholesale, networking, fun and it also took some of my creativity away for at least the first months.

After adjusting, I was able to work better on my website and was able to make a display in one of the windows of my studio which has given me exposure in the area and I found my creativity again by being more in contact with nature and myself without external distractions.”

Taking inspiration from the Caribbean sea, the colours of her hometown Venezuela and the fashion and style of Dublin streets, Betzy offers customers a vibrant collection of jewellery that is as unique as it is bold.

The collection is full of quirky charm and individuality with each piece offering the wearer a little bit of Sandia Dublin’s personality. From pineapple stud earrings to coffee cup rings, there is something for everyone in this fun take on fashion.

For a more demure look Sandia Dublin also offer simple necklaces made with dried flowers and earrings made from wood.

Each piece can be as distinctive as the wearer and make as much of a statement as you want.
