Krispy Kreme have announced that they will be one of the flagship tenants of a new plaza in Dublin’s city centre when it opens in 2021.
The American donut brand are the latest tenant to sign a lease for a unit in the Central Plaza development on Dame Street.
The Hines and Peterson Group announced today that the Krispy Kreme store will face onto Dame Street, and also on the popular walkway that links Dame Street with Temple Bar.
The new shop is due to open early next year when the Central Plaza project is completed. The front of the shop will be entirely glass, meaning Krispy Kreme’s workshop will be a showcase to all those on the Plaza, with passers-by able to watch the full experience that goes into making the famous doughnuts.
Brian Moran, senior managing director of Hines, said: “We are delighted that such an iconic brand as Krispy Kreme has chosen an equally iconic location as Central Plaza for its new flagship city centre location.
“Krispy Kreme will bring an exciting and beloved retail experience to a whole new customer base and will be perfectly located in the heart of Dublin. With the Central Plaza project now nearing completion, we’re looking forward to seeing Krispy Kreme serving up its iconic doughnuts to a very expectant customer audience here in the city centre very soon indeed”.
Central Plaza is the redevelopment by Hines and Peterson of the former Central Bank of Ireland complex on Dame Street College Green. Other tenants of the development include Las Iguanas, Ginos, Bujo and WeWork.
