Back to school with Heinz Beans

Now that September is well and truly underway, we need some fresh ideas for the kitchen.

Everyone’s favourite beans, Heinz, have a range of mouth-watering bean recipes to make your meals not only filling and delicious, but also perfect for busy school mornings or for after school snacking. Check out this simple recipe for the Heinz Beanz ‘All Day Breakfast Pot’ and enjoy!

HEINZ BEANZ ALL DAY BREAKFAST POT

SERVES 10

INGREDIENTS:

  • 2½ cans of HEINZ NO ADDED SUGAR BEANZ
  • 500G POTATOES (PEELED AND CUT INTO 2CM DICES)
  • 2 TBSP VEGETABLE OIL
  • 1 TSP SMOKED PAPRIKA
  • 10 QUORN SAUSAGES
  • 200G RED PEPPER
  • 4 TBSP BROWN SAUCE
  • CHOPPED PARSLEY TO GARNISH

METHOD:

1. PREHEAT THE OVEN TO 180C.

2. PLACE THE POTATOES ONTO A BAKING TRAY AND TOSS WITH 1 TBSP OF THE OIL AND SMOKED PAPRIKA. ROAST FOR 20-25 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE POTATOES ARE CRISPY AND GOLDEN BROWN.

3. HALFWAY THROUGH THE COOKING TIME PLACE THE QUORN SAUSAGES ONTO A BAKING TRAY WITH THE DICED PEPPERS AND BRUSH WITH REMAINING OIL. COOK FOR 12-15 MINUTES OR UNTIL THE SAUSAGES

REACH CORE TEMPERATURE AND THE PEPPERS ARE SOFT. REMOVE FROM THE OVEN AND SLICE THE SAUSAGES INTO 5 PIECES.

4. MEANWHILE IN A LARGE PAN GENTLY HEAT THE HEINZ NO ADDED SUGAR BEANZ AND STIR IN THE BROWN SAUCE.

5. ONCE COOKED ADD THE POTATOES, SLICED QUORN SAUSAGES AND PEPPERS TO THE PAN AND STIR GENTLY TO COMBINE AND HEAT THROUGH.

6. TO SERVE, DIVIDE THE BEAN MIXTURE BETWEEN 10 TAKE-AWAY TUBS AND GARNISH WITH A LITTLE CHOPPED PARSLEY.
